Association of Independent Museums (AIM) – Museum Fundamentals Grant Programme
AIM grants are available to help our members develop and grow their organisations and underpin key areas of activity. You can find out more on our current grant schemes below and you’ll find all the eligibility criteria and timetables for applications on each of the grant pages.

Collections Care and Conservation Grants
AIM is grateful to the Pilgrim Trust for funding the grant scheme for a further three years from 2023-2025. In 2025 funding for collections care and remedial conservation projects will be offered through the Museum Fundamentals grant.
Closing date: Autumn round 5pm Friday 27 March 2026. -
AIM Training Grants
AIM training grants of up to £350 are available to support member museums in developing the skills and expertise of their workforce (paid or voluntary). Priority will be given to smaller museums receiving less than 20,000 visitors a year.
Applications now open.
The AIM Training Grant is open to applications from member organisations.

Museum Fundamentals
Museum Fundamentals combines the invaluable collections care and conservation support from the Pilgrim Trust with funding from the Julia Rausing Trust. The grant encourages small and medium sized museums to create projects based on their collection’s needs, which improve knowledge, care and access to our nation’s heritage.
Closing date for expressions of interest 5pm Friday 6 February 2026. Full application spring round 5pm Friday 27 March 2026.
