Charity Crafts

SNVB identified a need for a Charity Craft Circle following several enquiries from potential volunteers and local community groups.  The project aims to provide opportunities for people who are isolated and are interested in handicrafts, to use their skills to help local charities.

The volunteers produce handicrafts that are passed onto local groups to sell or that will assist them in their services.  Current ideas include blankets for dogs waiting to be re-homed by a local animal charity, children’s skirts/waistcoats/bonnets for a local canal museum and greeting cards to be sold at craft fairs.

Sessions are held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month between 2.00 pm and 3.30 pm at the Volunteer Centre in Moat Lane, Towcester. The meeting room is fully accessible and new members are very welcome.

If you are interested in joining the group, or if you have any ideas for what the volunteers could make, contact Nicola on 01327 358264 or go to Contact us to send an e-mail . If you are unable to attend these sessions but would still like to make items please contact Nicola, as some of our members are working at home.

Additionally, Nicola would be pleased to hear from you should you have any craft materials that you would like to donate e.g. knitting wool or card would be useful.
