Funding sources and fundraising
We keep constantly aware of the ever-changing range of funds available to groups, whether from international, national, regional, district or local sources. SNVB has access to a number of key databases with sophisticated search-engines that allow us to probe for funding sources and grants from government, trusts, companies, charitable organisations and other bodies.
We can help you to build a sensible budget and find your way around the maze of funding options. We don’t give grants ourselves and we can’t actually do your fundraising for you, but we may be able to help you to target your efforts.
Volunteer recruitment
With over ten years’ experience of recruiting volunteers for groups in the district, we use
-
posters,
-
newspapers,
-
leaflets,
-
village contacts,
-
local opportunity catalogues,
-
our Volunteer Centres,
-
public libraries and
-
the internet
to recruit volunteers for you.
We are the local agents for the National Volunteering Database www.do-it.org.uk.
We can also offer advice on “good practice” to help you to keep your volunteers longer
Practical Support
The Volunteer Centres in Brackley and Towcester have small offices which can be rented on a sessional basis for advice providers. In addition the centre in Towcester has a meeting/training room available for up to 20 people. Both facilities are offered at reasonable rents and both buildings are fully accessible. We can also provide opportunity and event catalogues and advertise your activities and events at both our centres.
Advice and Guidance
SNVB can help with setting up a new organisation or developing an existing one. Advice is available on roles and responsibilities of committee members, how to run a meeting, keeping accounts, registering as a charity, etc.
IT
We can help you with advice from starting out on the IT road, to developing your IT skills, to building a website.
Networking
Link-up is a regular meeting of local agencies in the district, where there is sometimes a speaker, but always an opportunity to share ideas and problems and find solutions. In addition SNVB is part of a number of local partnerships and can link you in to their thinking. You can promote your activities through our regular newsletter with a circulation of about 500.
